Societatea Naţională Nuclearelectrica S.A. announces that yesterday, 27 October 2013, hours 04:20 PM, because of the power supply failure of a command and control circuit, the reactor of the Cernavoda NPP’s Unit 1 automatically shut-down.

All the systems response operation was in compliance with the design and no other failures were identified.

During the outage, the nuclear safety related to the reactor, the operation personnel,  the population and the environment was not affected.

Technical and organizing measures were taken  so that the remediation duration be as short as possible and the repairs be carried out under safe conditions.
