In 2020, it was important to stand by the education system and support online learning , so as no child would be excluded.
As part of our value and Empathy and Responsibility strategic direction, Nuclearelectrica was involved in bearing, by means of sponsorship, the costs necessary for purchasing the electronic equipment required in order to carry out the instructive-educational process in the context of online school (laptops and graphic tablets), within the Ion Barbu Theoretical High School of Pitești. The project brought about improved communication between pupils and teachers, and a more fluent teaching-learning process. The equipment was used by 730 students in the 9th-12th grades.
The COVID 19 pandemic strongly affected the educational activities, and caused difficulties to many families, given the costs for purchasing the suitable equipment for attending online courses. Nuclearelectrica was actively involved, offering a helping hand to ensure this transition to online learning, focusing on the neighbouring areas of nuclear objectives (Pitești, Cernavodă, Medgidia, Constanța), and also on other areas of the country, where possibilities are limited.
We have invested RON 80,000 and impacted 730 students.
