SN Nuclearelectrica SA announces that Cernavoda NPP Unit 2 automatically disconnected from the National Energy System in the morning of October 14th, 2021 following the triggering of the switchers delivering energy into the National Energy System.
Cernavoda NPP specialists investigate the cause that has led to the triggering of the switchers that deliver the energy, fact that has led to the automatic disconnection of Unit 2.
The automatic disconnect of Unit 2 occurred under safety conditions, all the systems of the units functioning and responding in compliance with the design in such circumstances.
The automatic disconnection of Unit 2 and remediation works have no impact on the nuclear safety of the reactor, personnel, population and environment.
SN Nuclearelectrica SA will issue a press release when Unit 2 is reconnected to the power grid.
