SN Nuclearelectrica SA announces that Cernavoda NPP Unit 1 was disconnected from the National Power System during the evening of August 5th , 2020, during the power increase stage of the reactor, after the resynchronization to the grid after the completion of the workd related to the planned outage, during the course of the same evening.
The specialists are investigating the cause and will perform the remediation works in compliane with the procedures of Cernavoda NPP.
We state the fact that the disconnection of Cernavoda NPP Unit 1 from the National Power System as well as the remediation works do not have a negative impact on nuclear safety, the personnel, the popylation and the environment.
SN Nuclearelectrica SA will issue a new announcement upon the reconnection of the unit.
