SN Nuclearelectrica SA („SNN”) informs that during the afternoon of June 23 2016, on the site of Cernavoda NPP Unit 4 (unit under preservation), located outside the protected perimeter of Cernavoda NPP Units 1 and 2, an early fire, with smoke release was detected, that was immediately put out as per the specific procedures of the power plant.

The causes of the incident are under analysis; the event had no negative impact on the personnel, NPP site, equipment, normal operation of Cernavoda NPP Units 1 and 2 or on the population and the environment.

Cernavoda NPP is fully operational within the normal parameters.
