Societatea Nationala Nuclearelectrica S.A. announces the reconnection of Cernavoda NPP Unit 2 to the National Power Grid on September 9th 2014; the unit will reach nominal power at 21:00 hours.
Cernavoda NPP Unit 2 was disconnected from the National Power Grid on September 8th 2014, 17:30 hours, following a malfunction occurred at the electric generator, which was repaired by the specialists of the nuclear power plant with the support of the manufacturer of the installation (General Electric).
The repair works were performed in accordance with the approved procedures used by Cernavoda NPP in safe conditions for the personnel, population and environment.
