SN Nuclearelectrica announces that its branch, the Nuclear Fuel Plant – Pitesti, a qualified manufacturer of CANDU 6 nuclear fuel, produced the fuel bundle # 130,000.

Since the commissioning of the Cernavoda NPP’s Units 1 and 2, the failure rate that has occurred during the nuclear fuel bundle manufacturing process is of 0.02%, which reflects the compliance with the quality, environmental and nuclear safety standards and requirements.

The energy contained in the 130, 000 nuclear fuel bundles, which include approximately 2495.4 tons of natural uranium, is equivalent to the energy that could be produced by 288.6 million tons of brown coal, 144 million tons of pit coal or 41.2 million tons of oil.
