S.N. Nuclearelectrica SA announces that Cernavoda NPP Unit 2 operates at nominal power starting the evening of January 21st, 2018, 22:15 HRS.
Cernavoda NPP Unit 2 power was reduced on the morning of January 21st, 2018 by 27%, this power reduction being necessary in order to ensure the proper working conditions for remediation workings to one of the process systems within the classical part of Unit 2.
Throughout the duration of the remediation workings in the classical part of Unit 2, the unit remained connected to the National Energy System, operating at a power level of cca 500 MWe.
The remediation workings and power reduction had no negative impact on the personnel, population and environment, these being performed in compliance with the specific procedures of the nuclear power plant.
