S.N. Nuclearelectrica SA (“SNN”) informs that on January 21st, 2018, staring 07:30 HRS, Cernavoda NPP will reduce power of Unit 2 with 27% (approximately 200 MWh) in order to ensure the working conditions for the remediation of an incipient defect to one of the process systems within the classical part of Unit 2.
The power reduction duration will be of approximately 16 hours, the reactor being maintained connected to the National Energy System throughout this time.
The remediation workings and the power reduction will not have a negative impact on the personnel, population and environment, the activities being conducted in compliance with the specific procedures of the power plant.
